The President of the United States has made it official. He is in full support of marriage between same sex couples. The Vice-President first presented his support which nudged the President to make his support known now, instead of later at the Democratic convention. Poor VP, his jaws have no hinges.
Several States now support same sex marriage, as do many governors and past governors. Most of the Democratic leadership and some even among the Republican leadership also openly support same sex marriage.
Nearly all Hollywood celebrities, producers, directors, etc. support same sex marriage. Many in the music field have made their support public. Even among religious organizations, same sex marriage is supported and promoted.

In Giles County, Virginia, as a result of an ACLU lawsuit against the school system for having a copy of the Ten Commandments displayed on school property, a federal judge has suggested that the display be permitted to remain at the school if (keyword: if) the first four Commandments are removed from it. Those Commandments are:
-
Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3)
-
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:4-6)
-
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exodus 20:7)
-
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Exodus 20:8)

With two statements made by the Vice President first and then a follow-up statement from the President of the United States, the issue of same sex marriage has become the discussion of a national debate, an issue that will have not only political and moral significance but some say eternal ramifications as well.
However, President Obama said that his practice of the Christian faith led him to the decision that gay marriage is alright and he now supports same sex marriage based on the biblical golden rule.

One of the literary descriptions of the Chinese people is often wrapped in one word–inscrutable. Among that word’s synonyms are the following: incomprehensible, unexplainable, unfathomable, impenetrable, inexplicable, ambiguous, and difficult. I think of the nation of China, in general terms, as one thing more–extremely patient.
One of the most validating proofs of the patience of the Chinese is found in, I think, the matter of the debt it has purchased and maintained on its financial books–especially the debt of the United States of America. It is estimated that China holds U.S. Treasury bonds and other debts totaling approximately $1 trillion. The Chinese nation holds indebtedness of other nations, also, to the approximate tune of $2 trillion. It is a troubling matter that this is the case, when one considers that China has been, since the revolution that brought communism to power, America and the world’s most dangerous adversary. It is the most dangerous because of the synonyms above that define the Chinese communist leadership since, particularly, the time of Mao Zedong. They have been all of those things: incomprehensible, unexplainable, unfathomable, impenetrable, inexplicable, ambiguous, and difficult.

The global debt crisis is back in the headlines. Right now, red flags are popping up all over Europe, with Spain being the most-watched nation. Last Thursday, Standard & Poor’s cut its credit rating on Spain by two notches, citing the government’s growing budget deficit as a result of economic contraction. A day later, the Spanish government released data showing a record 5,639,500 people are unemployed in that nation, with the unemployment rate hitting 24.4 percent.
Spain may need to pump around $200 billion into its ailing banks. Amazingly, bad loans now make up 8.15 percent of all loans on the books of Spanish banks. That is the highest level in eighteen years. The official debt-to-GDP ratio for Spain is 79 percent, but the actual total is around 130 percent.

Jack Hibbs, the dynamic and outspoken pastor of the Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California, has perhaps summed up best the spiritual situation we face today in our nation: "It’s a sad thing to watch a nation die on your watch."
There is no doubt that our nation is writhing in its death throes. America is caught up in a downward spiral into a black pit of immorality and violence. We are reaping what we have sown since the 1960′s when we turned our back on God and decided to do our own thing. Since that time we have become obsessed with materialism and the pursuit of pleasure. In the process, the God who blessed us so richly has been shoved aside and treated with disdain as a nuisance.
Our nation’s rapidly drifting into secular paganism. It is an essay I wrote in 2000 concerning the decay of society, I look back over it and see it’s even more relevant today than when it was written.

With the all but certain nomination of Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for President of the United States, America has turned. This is the greatest example in contemporary times where it is a certainty that America will not be led by a Christian president. The two candidates running for President worship a different Jesus than Yeshua Ha Mashiach. On October 12, 1816, Supreme Court Justice John Jay said,
"Providence has given our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."
America’s privilege and interest as defined by Jay will be officially abandoned in November.
