Distress With Perplexity

Terry James 90x115by Terry James

I wrote the following for Nearing Midnight March 7 of this year, under the title, "End Times–The Bottom Line":

Global economic chaos is driving the distress and perplexity of the nations of planet earth. The words of the greatest of all prophets, Jesus Christ, echo in cavernous reverberation with each succeeding news report from the capitals of earth’s monetary centers. “And there shall be…upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring” (Luke 21:25b).

Jesus’ Olivet Discourse spoke to conditions exponentially moved beyond norms. In other words, the “distress” and “perplexity” that nations will be experiencing as His Second Coming nears will be beyond any ever known by people of earth. And, in biblical terms, “seas and waves” refer to the masses of peoples. Jesus said that because there will be unprecedented distress and perplexity among the nations, the peoples populating those nations will be “roaring.”

Are Christians Promised Victory In The End?

Dr. David Reagan 90x115by Dr. David Reagan

In his great novel about the French Revolution, called A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens began his story with some of the most memorable words in all of English literature:

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair…

These words have never been truer than they are today. Everywhere we look, in every direction, the world appears to be falling apart.

The Rapture And Then, “All Hell On Earth”

Joseph Chambers 90x115by Joseph Chambers

This is a bible study to comfort those troubled by the present radio series, entitled “The Seven Years of Hell On Earth”. The rapture will, without question, occur before those seven horrible years. If you do not believe in the “Pre-Tribulation Rapture” there is no comfort for you.

Things you will learn in this study:

1. The Book of Genesis is absolute and literal.

2. The Ark and the flood was a model picture of the Pre-tribulation Rapture.

3. The judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah was also a type of the Rapture.

4. The daily tribulation we presently endure and the Great Tribulation are totally different.

5. God’s saints are loved and never made to suffer wrath with the wicked.

6. Jesus came to save and deliver His Church from the final wrath and judgment.

7. How could Jesus take His saints for His Bride after His wrath has bashed the life out of them.

8. The Rapture of the saints before the “HELL ON EARTH” is bedrock truth.

The Beginning And The Ending: Spiritualization of The Bible

Dr. David Reagan 90x115by Dr. David Reagan

This article is one I have been ruminating about for some time. It was about three years ago when the Lord laid the title on my heart. I began praying about it and searching the Scriptures and turning it over and over in my mind.

Finally, the message began to burn in my heart for a release, and so I decided to pull it together for presentation at our annual Bible conference.

I consider it to be a personal testimony about my faith. As such, you may not agree with what I have to say, but I hope you will respect it, even as I respect those fellow believers who would disagree with me.

Is Your Vantage Point From Patmos?

Vance Havner 90x115by Vance Havner

The Christian’s view of the future is not a spectacular dreamed up by science or the brainstorm of secular historians. He gets it from an old, old book written by a solitary exile on a lonely rock in a restless sea. The Apocalypse is laughed at by this world and discredited even by some churchmen but it is precious to all strangers in modern Babylon who are looking for the City that’s soon coming down. Its strange, mysterious characters make more sense every day as the seven-sealed book opens the meaning of God’s history within history and the stage is set for the last chapters in the drama of this age. He does not argue with the wise-acres of this world, for that would be casting pearls before swine. Blind eyes cannot see this vision nor can dead men understand Scripture until they are born again. God goes His quiet way and lets the panels discuss and symposiums debate current events in all their learned ignorance. Headlines mean something entirely different to Him and newscasts tell another story to His ears. Blessed is the man whose vantage point is Patmos!

Jesus is Coming … Again!

Jesus Is Lordby Yeshua (Jesus) Is Lord

He came the first time to die; He is coming again to raise the dead.

When He came the first time, they questioned whether He was King; the next time the world will know that He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

The first time He wore a crown of thorns; the next time He will be wearing a crown of glory.

The first time He came in poverty; the next time He is coming in power.

The first time He had an escort of angels; the next time He will come with ten thousands of His saints.

The first time He came in meekness; He is coming again in majesty.

The Coming Prince

Jack Kinsella 90x115_editedby Jack Kinsella

Ever since Sir Robert Anderson published his seminal work, The Coming Prince at the turn of the 20th century, prophecy watchers have been trying to figure out who he is. Sir Robert took his title from Daniel 9:26’s identification of the antichrist as a prince of the Roman Empire:

“And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”

Of all the prophetic clues to the identification of the antichrist, this seems to me to be the most unassailable. There have been only two ‘peoples’ whom history records destroying both the city of Jerusalem and the sanctuary of the Temple.

When Secret Backsliding Goes Public

J.C. Ryle 90x115by J.C. Ryle

Great illnesses seldom attack the body, without a previous train of premonitory symptoms. Great falls seldom happen to a saint, without a previous course of secret backsliding. The church and the world are sometimes shocked by the sudden misconduct of some great professor of religion. Believers are discouraged and stumbled by it. The enemies of God rejoice and blaspheme. But if the truth could be known, the explanation of such cases would generally be found to have been private departure from God. People fall in private, long before they fall in public. The tree falls with a great crash, but the secret decay which accounts for it, is often not discovered until it is down on the ground.
