Included In The Ticket

Vance Havner 90x115by Vance Havner

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32

It is an old story of the ship passenger who lived on crackers and cheese all the way across the ocean only to learn that his meals were included in his ticket.

Our salvation includes more than pardon from sin, deliverance from hell and a ticket to heaven. It includes all that we shall need on our journey. Sin has been dealt with in the Son, but Jesus is not only our Saviour, He is our Sustenance and Supply. We are not to subsist on our own crackers and cheese. “All things are yours.” Indeed, the supreme thing is that God spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all. That is the message of Calvary. But God has also freely given us all things in the gift of His Son. Our assurance, sanctification, peace, joy, wisdom, all that we need for body, mind and spirit to do God’s will, a new body at the resurrection, eternal life in heaven, all this is “included in the ticket.”

What a “ticket,” bought at the purchase price of God’s own Son! Throw away your crackers and cheese! You have a right to eat in the Main Dining Room!

The Russians on the prowl in the Middle East

by Chris Schang

Over the past few days there have been several news articles that indicate that Russia could be making the start of their prophetic move that will finally culminate with the fulfillment of the prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39. This prophecy in Ezekiel 38-39 foretells of a Russian-led moslem coalition that attacks Israel in the end times and attempts to destroy Israel. Fortunately, the Bible tells us that this evil attack is spoiled when the God of Israel supernaturally intervenes to save Israel from what would be certain destruction from the overwhelming force of the Russian-led coalition. This weeks articles have painted a very gloomy picture as it illustrates that Russia is in my opinion beginning to make a serious move towards their prophetic destiny. One article that shows this is from the Haaretz news agency that reports:

Russia has signed deals with Syria under which it will sell it warplanes, anti-tank weapons and air defense systems, Itar-Tass news agency quoted a senior Russian arms trader as saying on Friday. Mikhail Dmitriyev, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, said Russia would supply Syria with MiG-29 fighters and truck-mounted Pantsir short-range surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery systems. He did not specify the kind of anti-tank weapons.
